What if I told them,

That finally, I understood,

And that they didn’t have to hide,

From this secret.

Any longer.

Would be they be relieved,

Would they themselves understand,

What I was speaking of,

And would they even believe,

If they could.

Somehow I just know that the answer,

Is a perfect, simple no,

And I guess in that way,

I can protect the remnants of childhood,

Playing the part carelessly.
